The first Clash of Clans esports World Championship

Supercell has announced that Clash of Clans will have it's first esports World Championship tournament in October later this year. The tournament will be held during the ESL One in Hamburg Germany. The World Championship esports tournament will have a staggering prize pool of 1 million $. It is fascinating to see that even mobile games like Clash of Clans are beginning to raise their heads in the esports scene.

Clash of Clans is a free-to-play mobile game released back in 2012 by Supercell. At it's core it is a pay-to-win game but in the tournament every competitor will have every item and aspect of the game unlocked. Even though Clash of Clans has been a part of some smaller esports events in the past this is the first time Supercell is rolling a dedicated esports World Championship event for Clash of Clans.

It is interesting to see what kind of esports betting opportunities and market this tournament will bring. There haven't been many mobile game esports tournaments at this scale and there are currently not many options available to bet on mobile game esports but we will expect to see many esports betting sites to bring up esports betting markets for mobile games and tournaments.
